SUMMERLAND Film review

I’ve been waiting to see this since it came out last year.

Summerland is one of those films that gives you a warm glow but tugs at the heart strings. Had me in tears!

A young boy is evacuated from London during the blitz and stays with a single woman nursing a broken heart who doesn’t want him around, but soon warms to the idea.

It’s about magic, love and loss with an unexpected twist.
Gemma Arterton puts in a moving performance, as does young Lucas Bond. And Tom Courtenay is brilliant as the school headmaster.

Excellent British film written and directed by Jessica Swale is available on the usual rental streams.
